Wednesday Writing Prompts: Sounds Like Summer

For this week’s prompts we’re dipping back into dialogue with ten summer-themed dialogue prompts.

  1. ”It’s hot enough to fry an egg out there.”
  2. “Summer is the wrong season to be looking for love.”
  3. “We went to your family reunion last summer!”
  4. “How did you get a sunburn there?”
  5. “I can tell someone is grilling.”
  6. “He’s the sort of person to complain about ice in summer.”
  7. “Humid enough to swim through.”
  8. “Why is the yard full of pool floats?”
  9. “Water boils at a hundred degrees and we’re well passed that.”
  10. “My least favorite time of year: tourist season.”

Bonus exercise: Use these lines as half of an overheard conversation. How does the missing context change the conversation?
